I made this animated gif in college. It is a recombination of all of the frames from Eadweard Muybridge’s horse motion study. Time flies.
When I was making All America City , my portrait of Buffalo and it’s surrounding communities, I used to jot down ideas of what I’d want to photograph in these small mind maps. Fun to look back at this one, from 2009.
Just spoke at William Nabers’s final SVA BFA Photography Thesis class tonight on life after school, with fellow graduates Lisa Elmaleh, Kevin Faulkner, Marko Kovacevic and Katelyn Russell. Informative, eventful and humbling. Also, physically quite dark. Dark room during work, dark room after work. This is what looking at photographs has become, I suppose.
